Security Preparations on the Ground

Nonetheless, in Ethiopia, state television has shown graduation ceremonies of thousands of cadets at multiple army bases.

The director of personnel division of the defense force, General Hachalu, commented lately in an interview that the defense forces was in a "strong stance" as "many thousands of youths" were entering service, which he said was "a message to our adversaries".

Previous Roots of the Conflict

For decades from 1890, Eritrea was governed by Italian rulers.
